Safety
Every batch of product is screened for 280+ substances banned by professional sports organizations worldwide. This isn't just for athletes; the certification provides reassurance that AG1 products have been tested and certified for quality, purity, and safety for everyone.
Testing
Naturally occurring heavy metals are present in plant-based ingredients through soil and water. We test every batch for lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic to confirm levels fall well below the thresholds set by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and NSF International.
AG1 IS TESTED FOR HEAVY METALS, INCLUDING:
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cadmium
- Arsenic
Allergen Screening
We do not formulate with wheat, dairy, egg, or peanut-containing ingredients and we verify this on the labels and COAs. Our manufacturing facilities adhere to strict allergen and validated cleaning protocols to reduce the chances of cross-contamination.
WE TEST FOR COMMON ALLERGENS:
- Gluten (Wheat, Rye, Barley) (<20ppm)
- Milk allergen
- Egg allergen
- Peanut allergen
Integrity
We partner with Alkemist Labs—a leader in botanical and nutraceutical testing—to confirm the identity and potency of raw botanical ingredients that go into our products. Through advanced analytical methods, Alkemist Labs independently validates consistency in our product quality from batch to batch.
Transparency
Each batch of AG1 is tested for a panel of quality and purity analytes, including microbial contaminants, heavy metals, allergens, and banned substances. As part of routine testing, we also test for chemical compounds like caffeine and oxalates. The Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a document that contains our testing report and the results based on safe limits and specifications.
WE TEST FOR :
- Unwanted bacteria: Harmful bacteria like Salmonella, E. coli, or Staphylococcus.
- Fungal contamination: Molds and yeasts that have been linked to immune disruption.
- Toxin production: Some microbes can produce toxic substances like mycotoxins and aflatoxins.
Safety
We test all 75+ ingredients to ensure the levels on the label match exactly what enters your body.
Nutritional potency can degrade during manufacturing or storage. We verify every ingredient against label specifications to make sure you're getting exactly what's promised. This is also where our NSF Certified for Sport® testing goes deeper, covering categories including anabolic agents, stimulants, hormone antagonists, diuretics, and growth hormone secretagogues.
TESTING INCLUDES:
- Anabolic Agents & Beta Blockers

At a high-level, AG1 Next Gen was clinically shown to close common nutrient gaps—areas where the average diet may fall short—and support gut health, two critical factors for overall health, energy, and daily function. These results were consistent across multiple gold-standard clinical trials studying a range of lifestyles, including healthy adults who ate a Standard American Diet, highly active adults, and healthy adults experiencing occasional digest discomfort.
After these studies concluded, the data and research underwent strict scrutiny from third-party scientists and statisticians, as well as our internal AG1 regulatory, research and legal teams. Together, we identified the most meaningful and measurable insights that shaped the development and launch of AG1 Next Gen. You can learn more on our Research page.
